Shift Templates

Shift Templates

A template is a shift you’ve saved so you can drop it onto the calendar again in one click — same time, same location, same tags. Build the shifts you use over and over, once.

Why templates

Most teams run the same handful of shifts again and again — a 7am–3pm at the front desk, a night shift on the unit. Instead of setting those up by hand every time, you save them as templates and add them with a click.

Set up your regulars once
Spend five minutes making templates for your common shifts, and every schedule after that goes faster.

Creating one

1

Describe the shift

In Configuration, open Shift Templates and set the time, location, and any tags for a shift you make often.
2

Save it

Give it a name you’ll recognize and save. It now lives in your template list.
3

Drop it on the calendar

When building a schedule, pick the template and place it. The details fill in for you — just choose the day and who works it.
Saving a template: a name, the times, a location, tags, and which days it repeats on.

Shift Templates FAQ

What goes into a template?

The parts of a shift you repeat — its start and end time, its location, and any tags. When you use the template, those fill in for you.

Can I still change a shift made from a template?

Absolutely. A template just gives you a head start. Once the shift is on the calendar, edit it however you need.

If I change a template, do old shifts change too?

No. A template is a starting point, not a live link. Shifts you already created stay exactly as they were.
