Approving Time Off

Approving Time Off

When your team requests time off, the requests land in one place for you to approve or deny. Approved time off feeds straight into scheduling, so people aren’t booked when they’re away.

The request queue

All time-off requests gather in the Time Off area for the team. Pending ones wait at the top with a count, so you always know how many need a decision.

1

Work the pending list

Open Time Off and you’ll see what’s waiting, plus history of what’s already been decided.

Approving or denying

1

Approve it

Approve and the person is marked off for those dates. Scheduling will respect that, so they won’t get booked while they’re away.
2

Deny it (with a note)

If you can’t grant it, deny it and add a short reason. The person sees why, and there’s a record of the decision.
Approved time off protects the schedule
Because approved time off feeds into the builder, it quietly keeps you from scheduling someone who’s away — no double-checking needed.

Time Off FAQ

How do I know when someone requests time off?

Pending requests gather in the Time Off area, and you’ll see a count so nothing slips by. Check in there to clear the queue.

What happens when I approve time off?

The person is marked as off for those dates, so you won’t accidentally schedule them then. When you build a schedule, their time off is taken into account.

Should I add a reason when I deny a request?

It helps. A short note explains the decision so the person understands, and keeps a record for later.

Can I enter time off for someone myself?

Yes. If someone tells you in person, you can add their time off directly so the schedule still knows about it.
